I'm a 4th year, 1st-grade teacher, I have seen the impact and development of students from paper and pen to chrome book and mouse/ mouse pad. With my guidance so many students have gravitated towards using technology with great strides even though they were not excited nor happy about being in virtual school. The students are actually advancing along quickly this school year which is great because in the world we live in now technology is a major factor in everything we do in our daily lives. It is our job and responsibility to prepare and assist our students for the upcoming, ever changing technology universe we are currently in. Currently, I serve on the school level Digital Leadership Team, where I use the virtual platform to develop authentic Google Slides that integrate reading skills within all content areas. As a member of the team, I train and support colleagues to assist in bringing excitement to virtual learning. I am also a member of the school level Covid-19 Task Force where we make decisions using the CDC Guidelines and student needs. I work with the before and after school 21st century grant program, provide targeted intervention support in the area of reading for 3rd grade students.
