Leaders in schools all look and act differently. Administrators build relationships with staff, students, and parents. They rely on their teacher leaders to help make decisions that are best for their students. In this session, Dr. Doyle and Ms. Gomez will discuss how they work to build relationships with the teacher leaders at Blair Middle School. They will discuss some experiences where failing forward has created the best experiences and relationships with teacher leaders, resulting in a positive school climate where all students can learn.

OneNote and Planner have made our lives so much easier. My co-presenter and I both wish we had known about the dynamic uses of the two applications in the title when we were in the classroom. Learn how to create modules in Canvas. Modules allow teachers to create an organized flow for course materials, assignments, and quizzes. If attendees want to practice skills introduced during training, I strongly encourage having a laptop present.

Canva is a graphic design program that is very user friendly. They've expanded their design items to include worksheets and the ability for teachers to assign design focused projects to students. This site is both app and web-based, can be used on any OS (Mac, PC, Chrome) and is very intuitive. This session will focus on the beginner aspects of Canva, including signing up for a free teacher account.

In "It's All Clickable in Your Virtual Inclusion Classroom: Making Navigation & Access to Assignments Easy with Interactive Google Slides" we will explore connecting resources and assignments to an Interactive Google Slide. The Interactive Google Slide can be used in CANVAS, Schoology, and Google Classroom. It incorporates IXL, Khan Academy, Quizizz, Quizlet, Google Docs and Google Forms. This session is great for any teacher; however, because of the incorporation of accommodations, it is ideal for inclusion teachers. AND because Math is the best subject ever,🤩 this session is great for those teaching mathematics.

I struggled with getting my students to invest time and effort in creative writing. I tried hundreds of journal prompts and writing activities but nothing worked. Then, a simple idea had a profound impact on my classroom.

I realized that students are significantly more motivated when they know the content they create will reach a global audience. Rather than create a piece of homework for the teacher to mark and maybe sit on the fridge at home, they were authoring media-rich digital books for the world to see!

With Edulastic you have access to a library of content including high-quality subject-based Spark content. During this session you’ll get an overview of the recently launched SparkMath, SparkReading, SparkScience content and how these content collections can help you supercharge your instruction.

SparkMath provides curriculum-aligned, differentiated practice to guide every student to mastery. SparkMath recommends review, practice or challenge work as the next assignment for each student, but the teacher is still in control.
